The LEGO Group is bringing Bikini Bottom to brick form for the first time. Confirmed via LEGO's own official press release (July 14, 2026), the LEGO Icons SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom building set marks the company's first-ever SpongeBob SquarePants set, timed to the inaugural SpongeBob Day.

The set recreates four of Bikini Bottom's most recognizable locations in one display: SpongeBob's pineapple home, Squidward's Easter Island-inspired house, Patrick's rock, and a Jellyfish Fields scene. Each building opens up to reveal interior details, including a fully furnished living room and bedroom inside SpongeBob's pineapple, Squidward's curated living space, and the surprising interior hidden beneath Patrick's rock.
SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward are included as Minifigures, while Gary the Snail and DoodleBob appear as brick-built characters. LEGO's press release also highlights smaller nods built into the set for longtime fans, including the boatmobile, Squidward's clarinet, and a small portrait of Gary tucked into the display.
Alongside the main set, LEGO is also releasing the LEGO BrickHeadz SpongeBob SquarePants Figure (40858), a smaller 72-piece, ages 10+ build priced at $12.99. It follows the same pre-order timeline as the main set: available for pre-order July 14, with general purchase starting September 1, 2026. The BrickHeadz figure stands just over 3 in. (8cm) tall and includes SpongeBob's jelly fishing net.
With four separate buildings, three minifigures, and two brick-built characters in one display, this set has more individual pieces to protect than a typical single-building Icons set.
