Pokemon Gold and Silver, a beloved game that introduced over 100 new Pokemon, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, The Pokemon Company has released exclusive merchandise in Japan. This exciting lineup includes adorable plushies of Ho-Oh and Lugia, stylish reversible jackets featuring the Johto region, and other fun items like picture-changing cups and backpacks.

Unfortunately, there are currently no plans to bring this exclusive merchandise to the US, despite the strong fanbase. This means that scalpers are likely to take advantage of the situation, reselling these items at inflated prices on American auction sites. Until Nintendo or The Pokemon Company decides to address this issue, US fans will have limited options.

Despite this setback, Pokemon's popularity continues to soar. The recent mobile game, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, achieved 30 million downloads in its first week alone. Additionally, Pokemon titles have sold over 99 million units on the Nintendo Switch, and Pokemon Go remains a popular mobile game. While Pokemon was recently denied a place in the US Toy Hall of Fame, its enduring popularity suggests that it will likely be inducted in the future.
