Pokemon TCG Delta Reign is now just weeks away, and with prerelease events set to begin October 24, 2026, most of the set's major details have moved from rumor to official confirmation. As the sixth main expansion in the Mega Evolution series, Delta Reign carries a lot of expectation heading into release day, both from set-completion collectors and from players chasing its headline card.
This guide pulls together everything that has actually been confirmed so far, rather than speculation pulled from early leaks. That distinction matters more than usual here, since Delta Reign is releasing close enough to other major fall products that early details can get muddled across different outlets.
Mega Rayquaza ex is the clear headliner, but Delta Reign is a deeper set than a single chase card, with three secondary Mega Evolutions, a new Stadium mechanic, and a card count on the higher end for the block.
Here is the full picture, section by section, of what collectors should know before release day arrives.
Delta Reign is confirmed for a November 6, 2026 physical release date, with official prerelease tournaments running from October 24 through November 1, 2026. The set also goes live inside Pokemon TCG Live a day early, on November 5, 2026, following the staggered digital-then-physical pattern the Mega Evolution block has used consistently.
Delta Reign is the English-language counterpart to Storm Emeralda, which already released in Japan on July 31, 2026. That gap gives collectors an unusually clear early look at pricing trends and pull rates before the English set even hits shelves.
Delta Reign contains more than 135 cards in total, built around a 103-card numbered main set plus 37 secret rares stacked above it. Those secret rares break down into 14 Illustration Rares, 17 Ultra Rares, and 6 Special Illustration Rares, a secret-rare count on the higher end for a mainline Mega Evolution release.
The English version also folds in roughly 27 extra cards not found in the original Japanese numbering, largely sourced from Japan's companion Mega Starter Decks. That addition brings Eevee ex, Zoroark ex, and Meowscarada ex into the English main set alongside the four headline Mega Evolutions.
Mega Rayquaza ex is confirmed in both Special Illustration Rare and Mega Ultra Rare form, with the gold Mega Ultra Rare print tracking as one of the most anticipated single pulls in the entire Mega Evolution series so far. Early Japanese secondary-market pricing on Storm Emeralda's equivalent card has already reinforced that demand ahead of the English release.
Mega Rayquaza ex is not the only chase card worth tracking, either. Raikou ex and a card known as Zinnia's Trust are both shaping up as Special Illustration Rare pulls with real secondary-market interest of their own, giving Delta Reign a deeper chase-card spread than a single-card release.
Delta Reign introduces four new Mega Evolution ex Pokemon overall, and Mega Rayquaza ex shares the spotlight with Mega Golisopod ex, Mega Golurk ex, and Mega Malamar ex. That combination has not appeared together in any earlier Mega Evolution set, giving Delta Reign its own distinct roster within the block.
These three secondary Megas are unlikely to match Rayquaza's demand, but each still carries dedicated collector interest, particularly among players building around Bug, Ground, or Dark-type strategies. Set-completion collectors should budget for all four when planning a full master-set run.
Delta Reign debuts Legendary Stadiums, a new Uncommon-rarity card type played in pairs rather than as a single standalone Stadium. Each pair shares one illustration split across both halves, and a player needs both halves in hand at once to combine them into a single Stadium in play.
Three Legendary Stadiums are confirmed for the set: Legendary Ocean Trench, Legendary Summit, and Legendary Lava Lake. This is a real structural addition to the format rather than a reskinned existing card type, and it is likely to shape early deckbuilding discussion once the set reaches tournament play.
Booster packs and an Elite Trainer Box are both officially confirmed for Delta Reign's initial release. Additional product SKUs, including any special collection box built specifically around Mega Rayquaza ex, have not been detailed publicly as of this guide.
Collectors planning a release-day pickup should treat the booster packs and Elite Trainer Box as the confirmed baseline, and watch for any additional SKU announcements closer to the November 6 date rather than assuming a full product lineup is locked in early. Once that Elite Trainer Box is in hand, an acrylic ETB case with a magnetic lid keeps it shelf-ready without ever needing to be opened.
Delta Reign is the sixth mainline entry following Mega Evolution, Phantasmal Flames, Ascended Heroes, Perfect Order, Chaos Rising, and Pitch Black, continuing the block's pattern of one clearly marketed headline Mega Pokemon per set. Chaos Rising was headlined by Mega Greninja ex and Pitch Black by Mega Darkrai ex, both released earlier in 2026.
That track record gives collectors a useful reference point for how a Delta Reign box might perform relative to recent releases, even before pull-rate data on the English print run is available. Set completionists chasing the whole block should expect Delta Reign to slot in as one of the pricier entries given its secret-rare count.

With a chase card like Mega Rayquaza ex driving this much attention, sealed product is likely to hold value well past release week, so lining up protection now is worth doing early. The Pokemon booster box protector with sliding lid and anti-UV acrylic is built to keep a sealed Delta Reign box safe from day one.
