NECA has revealed a new Ultimate Elvira, Mistress of the Dark figure, timed to land alongside both Cassandra Peterson's birthday and the character's 45th anniversary. The figure is based on Elvira's 1988 feature film debut and slots into NECA's 7-inch Ultimate scale lineup.
It is priced at $37.99, fully articulated, and comes loaded with accessories that lean into the character's horror-comedy persona rather than a single static pose. Preorders are open now through the NECA Online Store.
Shipping is currently estimated for the second quarter of 2027, which puts a real gap between the announcement and the figure actually arriving on shelves. That is a normal NECA Ultimate timeline, but worth planning around if you are preordering now.
Here is exactly what is in the box, why NECA chose this particular milestone to release it, and what to watch for between now and Q2 2027.
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark first hit theaters in 1988, and this figure marks 45 years since the character's debut. NECA explicitly tied the release to Cassandra Peterson's own birthday as well, giving the announcement a double milestone rather than a single round-number anniversary.
That framing matters for collectors deciding whether this is a one-off or the start of a broader Elvira line — anniversary-tied releases from NECA have historically been standalone pieces rather than the first wave of a recurring series.
The figure ships in collector-friendly window box packaging with an opening front flap, which is NECA's standard presentation for Ultimate-tier releases. Inside, Elvira comes with her dog Gonk, a snake, sunglasses, a dagger, bracelets, and a casserole dish with an attachable monster piece.
A display stand is also included, which matters for a figure built around several different accessory combinations rather than one fixed look straight out of the box.
This Ultimate figure includes four interchangeable faceplates, letting collectors swap between different expressions to match whichever accessory combination they are displaying. Two sets of swap-out hands round out the posing options.
That is a higher faceplate count than most NECA Ultimates ship with, which signals the line is leaning into Elvira's exaggerated expressions as a selling point rather than treating the face sculpt as fixed.
At $37.99, Ultimate Elvira sits at NECA's standard Ultimate-tier price point, in line with most other 7-inch horror Ultimates the company has released this year. The fabric dress is a nice touch that keeps the figure from looking like a single molded piece.
The Q2 2027 ship estimate is a meaningfully longer wait than some recent NECA preorders, so collectors paying upfront should budget for a multi-month gap between order and delivery.
NECA has built a reputation on licensed horror Ultimates, and Elvira joins a roster that already includes figures like Ultimate Savini Jason and Ultimate Son of Frankenstein. She is one of the few female-led horror-comedy characters in that lineup, which broadens the shelf beyond straight slasher icons.
For collectors who already own other NECA Ultimate horror figures, Elvira is a reasonable next pickup simply because the 7-inch scale and articulation style match what is already on the shelf.
Because this figure ships with four faceplates, two hand sets, and several loose accessories, keeping the original packaging intact is worth considering if resale value matters to you down the line. An acrylic modular display case gives the window box and its loose accessories a dust-free home while you wait for Q2 2027.
If you plan to display Elvira out of the box instead, a simple acrylic riser keeps the casserole-dish-and-monster accessory from crowding the figure's base.
A Q2 2027 estimate means collectors paying for this figure now are effectively prepaying more than a year ahead of delivery. That is normal for NECA Ultimate preorders, but it is worth confirming your retailer's cancellation and refund policy before committing.
Ship-date estimates on figures this far out also tend to slip by a month or two in either direction, so treat Q2 2027 as a reasonable planning window rather than a locked delivery date.

NECA estimates the second quarter of 2027.
Four interchangeable faceplates, two sets of hands, Gonk the dog, a snake, sunglasses, a dagger, bracelets, a casserole dish with an attachable monster, and a display stand.
7-inch scale, matching NECA's standard Ultimate line.
It marks both the character's 45th anniversary and Cassandra Peterson's birthday.
A Q2 2027 ship date gives you time to plan how this figure will actually be displayed once it arrives. An acrylic display stand is worth having ready so Elvira and her accessories have a proper shelf presence from day one.
